Waiting on Wednesday (18): Dreams of Significant Girls by Cristina Garcia

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to showcase unreleased novels that we're waiting for anxiously. This week I'm picking:
Dreams of Significant Girls by Cristina Garcia
Pub. Date: July 12, 2011
Summary: Brought together each summer at a boarding school in Switzerland, three girls learn a lot more than just French and European culture. Shirin, an Iranian princess; Ingrid, a German-Canadian eccentric; and Vivien, a Cuban-Jewish New Yorker culinary phenom, are thrown into each other's lives when they become roommates.
This is a story of 3 paths slowly beginning to cross and merge as they spend the year apart, but the summers together. Through navigating the social-cultural shoals of the school, developing their adolescence, and learning the confusing and conflicting legacies of their families' past, Shirin, Ingrid, and Vivien form an unbreakable bond.
Why I Chose Dreams of Significant Girls: I really love the summary, and the cover is pretty too. Plus, I love summer reads, and this one reminds me a tiny bit of one my favorite series, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Let me know what y'all's picks are this week. Happy reading!

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was what actually came to mind as soon as I started reading the summary xD. Haven't read those books but I did enjoy the movies. This one sounds like it'd be a good read. Adding it to my TBR!

This sounds good. I hope they go into the culture of each girl while she's at home, that could be interesting. Thanks for the suggestion!
