Top Ten Authors that Deserve More Recognition

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme/feature hosted by the Broke and the BookishThis week's topic is top ten authors that deserve more recognition.
--
1. Lucy Christopher - Granted, having only written one book, she's not a widely known author for a reason. But Stolen, her debut, is amazing, and one of my all-time favorite novels.
--
2. Markus Zusak - Though definitely not under-the-radar after The Book Thief, I think Zusak should get even more recognition. He's an amazing author (at least in my opinion) and all of his books are great, no matter what topics they're about.
--
3. Carrie Ryan - I love, love, love The Forest of Hands and Teeth series, and she's really amazing as an author. I know I'm already sounding like a broken record, but her descriptions are just so beautiful and detailed and her novels have a really huge emotional impact (at least on me).
--
4. Michael Grant - His Gone series is really original and the mystery is really great. I'm surprised by how little of the other bloggers/readers I know have heard of him or read his books.
--
5. Ellen Hopkins - I know everyone knows Ellen Hopkins, but I think she deserves even more credit. Her novels are all amazing, and they are so honest and real. Despite her already huge amount of fans, I completely think she should have more.
--
6. Courtney Summers - Even thought I haven't read all of her novels yet, Summers writes with a simplistic and devastatingly real voice that really grabs you and deserves much more attention than her books receive now.
--
7. Rachel Vincent - I adore the Shifters series and the Soul Screamers series by her, and again, I'm shocked by how few people have heard of her.
--
8. Andrew Smith - Again, he's only written one book, but it was one of my favorites from last year. Not only is his writing style suspenseful and thought-provoking, but the story line was (while not for the faint of heart) er, amazing.
--
9. John Green - Okay, this one is a stretch. He's already one of the most well-known YA authors around. But still. His books are heartfelt, beautifully-written, and poignant in a way that no other YA author really is (in my opinion).
--
10. Elizabeth Chandler - Her books are sometimes considered predictable and not worth the time, but I couldn't agree less. I think more younger teens should read her novels, because not only are they clean, they are easy to read and get into. (And yeah, they're great for older teens looking for a lighter read, too.)

So there you guys have it. I really loved the theme for this week, since I'm always wanting to share authors I think don't get enough recognition. Happy reading!

I love your list! I've heard of these authors, but have only read books from a few of them. I love Rachel Vincent's writing, and Michael Grant's!

Lucy Christopher has written another book, it's called "Flyaway". It was released last year :)

I hope to read more John Green and Marcus Zusak. So far I've only read one of each. Thank you for reminding me of these two.

Here's my list of Ten Authors Who Deserve More Recognition. I hope you will stop in and talk books.

Markus Zusak is on my list. I completely agree that his novels are great even though they are completely different from each other.

I also love Micheal Grant!! It is surprising how many other bloggers haven't heard of him or his Gone series, so I'm glad to meet a fellow fan. (Cannot wait for Plague!)

Carrie Ryan and John Green are pretty well-known, I think, but they definitely deserve their recognition. Awesome list! :)
