Teaser Tuesday (16): Stay by Deb Caletti

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Just grab the book you're currently reading, flip open to a random page, find a random excerpt, and voila, you're participating in it. My quote this week is from Stay by Deb Caletti:
--

"I just saw it as praise, falling down now like glittering snowflakes. But it was something else. A drop of poison on that gathering snow. That moment in the fairy tale when we know what just happened but the princess doesn't."

This one is amazing so far, and I really love the writing. I had problems picking just one teaser. Happy reading, y'all, and don't forget to leave links to your teasers.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Just grab the book you're currently reading, flip open to a random page, find a random excerpt, and voila, you're participating in it. My quote this week is from The Dust of 100 Dogs by A.S. King:

"Just as Padraig had teased, she was too young and stupid to know how to survive on her own, and she cried about being hungry and dumb. She tried to think of what Padraig would say--and then realized that every one of her happy thoughts had just gone up in flames with everything else she ever knew."

Happy reading, y'alls!

I know I haven't done a teaser in a long while, but I really liked this quote and I'm really enjoying this one so far. Remember to leave links to your teasers too. Happy reading!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Just grab the book you're currently reading, flip open to a random page, find a random excerpt, and voila, you're participating in it. My quote this week is from Once was Lost by Sara Zarr:

"I could make this yard look like the one at New Beginnings. All it would take are some supplies and time and maybe a book from the library telling me how to do it. Then, when she comes home, she won't have to see the same dead things that were here when she left."
--

I love the way Zarr writes and I'm really enjoying this one so far. Happy reading y'all.

Teaser Tuesdays (12): Other Words for Love by Lorraine Zago Rosenthal

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Just grab the book you're currently reading, flip open to a random page, find a random excerpt, and voila, you're participating in it. My quote this week is from Other Words for Love by Lorraine Zago Rosenthal:

"It was all so stark and mechanical. How could soft moans behind a bedroom wall possibly result in needles and stirrups and K-Y jelly?"
--

It's been a little slow, but I really like the way Rosenthal writes, and the story line is intriguing. What's your teaser this week?

Teaser Tuesdays (11): Across the Universe by Beth Revis

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Just grab the book you're currently reading, flip open to a random page, find a random excerpt, and voila, you're participating in it. My quote this week is from Across the Universe by Beth Revis:

"And this is my greatest fear: After 301 years, when they pull my glass coffin from this morgue, and they let my body thaw like chicken meat on the kitchen counter, I will be just like I am now. I will spend all of eternity trapped in my dead body."

So far Across the Universe is good, but a little confusing. But I'm still only 50 pages in, so I'm hoping that clears up. I like how the chapters alternate between Amy and Elder though. So what's your teaser?

Identical has been fantastic so far. Haunting and disturbing, but still great. What's your teaser this week?

Even though Christmas already passed, this book has been a nice wintry read so far. And that quote just made me laugh for a long time. Happy reading, y'alls!

o

I'm really loving this book so far, and Scott's writing is amazing. I'm excited that I have a few more Scott books just waiting to be read in that ever-growing pile by my bed. Don't forget to leave links to your teasers in the comments.

"We must go as quietly as we can," said Mr. Tumnus. "The whole wood is full of her spies. Even some of the trees are on her side."

I read these books a couple times as a kid, but I never totally understood them, so I decided to to read them again. I've really been enjoying them so far. My only complaint is this book weighs about twenty pounds and I'm getting back pains from carrying it around.

Teaser Tuesdays (4): Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. To participate, grab a book you're reading, flip it open to a random page, and choose a few lines from it to share. It's a great way to see what fellow bloggers are reading and get a taste for the novels their in.

"'You may wish I was lying, but you're looking at a girl who can change into a wolf whenever she wants. Remember?' I brushed his cheek with my fingers, too aware of the way my body melted against him. I closed my eyes, taking in his scent, the heat of his body."

I absolutely love this book so far. The romance is hot, the story is action-packed, and the characters are witty and loyal. I'm only half through but already dying to get the sequel.

Teaser Tuesdays (3): Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. To participate, grab a book you're reading, flip it open to a random page, and choose a few lines from it to share. It's one of my favorite memes.

"It was almost like he'd been taken by surprise, like he'd never discovered me before. Had it been any other guy, I would've said he was checking me out. As it was, he was definitely studying me. And I suddenly realized I was only in jeans and a bra--a black bra at that."

This book has been really good so far. I haven't gotten all that far, even though I've been reading it since Saturday, must be all the other non-bookish distractions out here in Alaska. I'm gonna try to finish it tonight. So glad I have the next 2 books already!
